Who we are

This website is operated by CRU Inc. o/a CRU AIR + GAS ("we", "us"), 8-4995 Timberlea Blvd., Mississauga, ON L4W 2S2, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information under our control, and we have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA). You can reach the Privacy Officer using the contact details at the end of this policy.

The information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a quote, place an order, or contact us, we collect what you enter: your name, company name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and details about your equipment (for example the compressor brand and model you want serviced).

Order and payment information. Orders are completed on our secure order system. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and never reach CRU AIR + GAS servers; we receive only confirmation that payment succeeded, along with the order details needed to fulfill it.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. When our analytics service is active, this information helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Your shopping cart is stored in your own browser on your own device, not on our servers, until you proceed to checkout.

Why we collect it

• To answer your enquiries and prepare the quotes you request
• To process, fulfill, ship and support your orders
• To provide the services you book, such as maintenance and repairs
• To improve the website, our catalogue and our service
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

Email and marketing consent

We follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We send commercial email only with your express consent, given by a checkbox you tick yourself: it is never pre-ticked. Every commercial message we send identifies CRU and includes a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribe requests take effect promptly. Messages about an order you placed or a quote you requested are not marketing and are sent as part of serving you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the business, and only what each one needs to do its job:

• Website hosting (Vercel Inc., United States): serves the pages of this website
• Order and inventory system (Odoo): stores orders, quotations and customer records; data may be processed outside Canada
• Payment processing: handled by the payment provider shown at checkout; card details go directly to them
• Shipping carriers (for example FedEx): receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order
• Analytics (Google, United States, when active): receives technical usage information to produce visit statistics

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Where your information is stored

Some of the providers above store or process information outside Canada, principally in the United States and the European Union. While in another country, information is subject to the laws of that country, and its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities may be able to access it under those laws. We choose established providers with strong security practices and share the minimum needed.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and afterwards as long as the law requires (for example, tax law requires order records to be kept for several years). Information that is no longer needed is deleted or made anonymous.

How we protect it

Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. Connections to this website are encrypted, our systems are protected by access controls, and our providers are bound to safeguard the data they process for us. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm, we would notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage to make the site work (for example, remembering your cart) and, when analytics is active, to measure how the site is used. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the cart and some conveniences may stop working without them.

Your rights

• Access: ask us what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used or shared
• Correction: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from marketing at any time, or withdraw other consents subject to legal and contractual limits
• Deletion: ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep

We respond to written requests within 30 days.

Changes to this policy
